  1. The Atom Band and I would like to book a date to play a live show down here. January 11th would be perfect. We’ll start a fire or something and have thoughtfetti and strings!

  2. ah I forgot about this

    you need to book it with Becky, as Chief Heckler she’s in charge… I’ll turn up on the 11th anyway just in case it goes ahead

  3. Hey Simon, I can’t find your room. Anyway, were you thinking about recording a live gig and then streaming it here on the 11th? Because it would be awesome if we could see it on video too.

    1. Well, not exactly… I was just going to record a ‘live in the studio’ bit with The Atom Band; assuming we can assemble. (If not, I suppose it’ll have to be a Simon Piler solo-set.)

      We could still try to do some video, I suppose… Hmmm…. That’s got me thinking, at least. But otherwise, just a porky, 30-minute-ish SoundCloud file.

      Any other ideas, there? It’s still a long ways off… and I’m open for neato ways of presenting this, that’s for sure.

      (P.S. – I’m in Cabin 5.)

  4. I vote video footage. Otherwise you’ll have to make us all wear blindfolds, and that might cause chaos at the bar.

    There is going to be a bar, right?

  5. I vote video too, but it’s your choice. It is a bit harder to organise, needs an extra person to film, and then there’s the whole editing/compressing/streaming thing…

    You could do an audio bit with photos of you playing live, I guess? Hmm.

  6. Well, I’ll see what I can do about throwin’ a video camera in the mix! …And trying to find a way to link it here.

    I suppose I could just embed a myspace video… …and I think that Flickr does something like that, too. (Still haven’t even tried VodPod. Sorrys.)

    (P.S. – Pink gin for me, please!)

  7. Wait… the basement bar. It’s still “a fucked up mess… screnches!”

    This makes me a little nervous. We have less than two weeks to kick it into shape? Am I right or am I right? Whether it’s the 11th or the 12th…

    I better order some beer. And pink gin. Will we need security? And a support act? I’m sure Buckley could be persuaded into getting up and telling a few jokes. Mind you, he’s not quite the same since the night of the magic mirror. Poor Buckley.

    1. Pink gin = gin + angostura bitters…. Yum.

      Buckley is on for jokes, I think, though I’m not sure how we’ll break up the sets just yet. Practice sometime today. Wa!

      1. Okay, things are looking a bit better in here…

        import ddf.thoughtfetti.*;
        import ddf.minim.yarns.*;

        Minim minim;
        AudioOutput out;
        SineWave sine;

        PFont font;

        void setup()
        {
        size(975, 300);
        font = loadFont(“Yarnseverywhere-48.vlw”);

        minim = new Minim(explodeThoughtfetti);
        out = minim.getLineOut(Minim.STEREO);
        sine = new SineWave(15.000, 0.5, out.sampleRate());
        sine.portamento(20);
        out.addSignal(sine);
        }

        *****

        Now I suppose we should consider THE AMPHISBAENA, eh?

  8. ++I JUST HAD A DIGITAL EPIPHANY LISTENING TO SIMON PILER AND THE ATOM BAND – BUT IT IS LATE AND I MUST RECHARGE MY BATTERIES – WHERE CAN I BUY A T-SHIRT?++

    1. Actually, I think the question is:

      Where can I get a Utica Flower Company T-Shirt?!

      (Actually, I suppose I could make you one of my ‘I Make Songs’ shirts with the zzzzzzzzzzap symbol on it… They’re kinda goofy lookin’, and relatively fun to make.)

  9. (quietly from behind a purple balloon)

    psst… hey Chief – message from Athens

    “what’s the chances of a split Becky N / Warchalking gig down here before 1st May 2010?”

  10. Wait a minute….

    the basement hatch was locked the entire time we were playing! No wonder nobody showed up.

    Okay, let’s start pointing the finger of blame.

    Wait another minute, there’s only me left!

    Waaaaaaah
